The 554 had 30 minutes running time between St. Ives and Huntingdon, which was generally attainable. The 55 gets 28 minutes, and, although it takes a different route through Oxmoor, I would think that the distances would be similar to those of the 554. So yes, a bit tight for time, but the Cambridge side has been given an extra 7 minutes. No doubt, when the 55 goes along the Busway, this 7 minutes will be magically removed to justify Ruth Kelly's claim that the Busway will " massively reduce journey times". Am I being cynical? We shall see.

With more and more complaints coming in, drivers working very high hours, buses being run until they feed on fumes and routes not being able to run on time, someone in management must realise that a big "mistake" as been done!!!!!

Or are they just hoping that the public will turn there cheek and carry on using them!!!!!

I must say that all people at the garage, drivers controllers engineers shunters management, are working to there up most to keep the services following!!!! shunter went out other day and covered a college that was missed. engineers have done shuttle buses to relieve drivers for other routes. controller is answering the phone to complaints and sorting normal daily duties out too (a three man team would help).

I just hope that the public realise that the garage as nothing to do with this mess and are only doing what is ordered!!!!

That's not necessarily blaming the driver of the one behind... it can be a more legitimate question along the lines of "is there something wrong with the roads today?"

Here's a piece from the Hunts Post about Stagecoach's staggeringly successful new network:

I am surprised to see that Philip Norwell is stated to be the "Managing Director" of SiH/SitF.

I love the irony that when I load that page an advert promising "new and improved buses throughout Huntingdonshire and The Fens starting August bank holiday!  Click here for info. Stagecoach" appears.

A visit to Wisbech bus station today revealed that there were still no
timetables posted  for the new services and the old 384 one was still posted.
I understand the bus companies are not responsible for the posting of timetables here.

This might be a good place to mention that I have now uploaded 220 photos taken during the first week of the new services (Wed 27th to Sat 30th August) around Peterborough, Oundle, Wisbech, March, Chatteris, Ramsey, Huntingdon, Cambridge and Long Sutton. It also features the open top FLF which was in service that week.

Link is here:

To start a slide show, click on the first image, then the last icon bottom left.

A bout of flu has prevented me from uploading these earlier.
Cheers
Brendan

Just a quick one - I have moved the discussion about Mac's and the rest to a new thread in technical and computer support entitled Apple vs Microsoft (not that I am aiming to start a war. Think it would be very one sided anyway.

Now back to all things related to the new network.

I can assure you that Philip Norwell is not the Managing Director of SiH or SitF!

I thought not. Surely Andy Campbell is the overlord of SiC, SiP, SiH and SitF.

I am advised that, as we know, Andy Campbell is MD of Stagecoach Cambridgeshire (Cambridge/Peterborough)

However, Philip Norwell is MD of Stagecoach in the Fens (Long Sutton/Huntingdon).

If Andy was to cover all (Cambs and Fens) it would contravene OFT undertakings.

(for now, at least)
