Title: Fleet addition
Post by: RM471 on January 30, 2011, 05:45:09 PM
I'm please to announce that we have just acquired another bus which I know will be a big disappointment to the many Routemaster lovers on this forum.

MMX 317 is a Guy Vixen Special (GS17) built for London Transport in 1953. It is one of 85 vehicles in the GS class and was in service for about 20 years most recently at Rickmansworth, operating from Garston LT garage. Anglia connections are the Perkins P6 engine and the body which is from Eastern Coachworks, Lowestoft. The bus is in excellent condition but it will be a while before we get it up to Class 6 standard and suitable for hire and reward.

It is one of 85 vehicles in the GS class

And is one of 92 that survive in preservation.

Or so it seems!
