I presume 'FIRST NORTHAMPTON' did not bid for the NSG (Northampton School for Girls) contract as i have seen another operators (Hamilton's of Rothwell) coaches doing those contracts. This may be due to the proposed sale of the Northampton operations.

I visited the garage and they said they did not have any school bus contracts now. This could be either they did not tender or they were not the cheapest.

Don't know why they are saying they don't have any school contracts as I suspect they have at least one.

Every afternoon in term time there are two double decks proceeding along the A428 through Duston towards Harlestone, today it was 38121 and 32629 but usually the "wreck" 38098 is one of them.

If not on school contract what on earth are they doing?

Dennis,

I think that these 2 were on their way out to Guilsborough (via the Bramptons) for schools duties. I think it is fair to say that if these duties did not exist, then 32629/30 would almost certainly be transferred away from Northampton. As it stands, they are available as back up in the unlikely (???) event of one of the Citybuses being unavailable.

If you are correct which you most probably are, then First HAVE got at least one school contract, so why are the staff saying they have none.

With transfer of some of the dedicated school buses away and running down their school contracts, is this a prelude to the expected withdrawal of ALL services by First.

Can't wait  ;D ;D ;D ;D
