The London blogger, Diamond Geezer, has some interesting pieces on the sesqui-centenary of the original line from Bishops Road to Farringdon

Is anyone going up to London to see the trains on the 13th and 20th? (or if you're lucky, actually getting a ride?).

Doubt i'm going to be able to get up to London to see it unfortunatly, due to uni work. Also, looking at the timetable, the departures will be in the evening making it more difficult to go and see. Not critiscising TfL at all, this is probably the best time to have them to avoid disruption to normal services.

Anyway, Happy (belated) 150th to my favourite railway network!  :)

I wanted to go down this Sunday, but with exams the next few days there's no chance of that.  :(

So, merry birthday to the Tube, and onwards to the double century I say!  :)

But there is the VIP train which runs this Sunday morning departing Kensington Olympia at 0955 arriving Moorgate 1033.

This then forms the 12.10 from Moorgate.

Due to be steam hauled to Moorgate, electric hauled to Kensington

I looked it up, and it's either get to norwich for half 5 in the morning, or spending 2 hours on the underground platforms, and costs around £100...
