Title: MCV launches new Volvo B8RLE single-decker
Post by: HY_4273 on February 21, 2018, 01:36:02 PM
According to the Coach & Bus Week magazine website https://cbwmagazine.com/mcv-launches-new-volvo-b8rle-single-decker/ :

"MCV has launched its new single-deck bus, which is based on the Volvo B8RLE chassis. It benefits from family styling and shared components with its double-deck sibling, the eVoSeti.

"Called eVoRa (sic), the new single-deck bus is being sold in the UK and Ireland by Volvo. The first three examples of the new model have already been sold; six are available for stock; and six more are on the way.

"The 12.2m heavyweight offers 46 passenger seats, 43 of which are forward facing with three-point seatbelts. One wheelchair can be accommodated."

...Click the link to see four photos, a sneak preview of a big report in next week's edition, according to the link. What do you think of the new bus?

Have you seen the video which has been posted on the Coach & Bus Week magazine YouTube channel https://youtu.be/_hSs50SpoBI ? The clip provides a good look around on-board and outside, plus footage from platform and saloon alike while on the move  :)

Looks like it's filmed at Volvo Ely and the tour goes through Witchford up to the old MCV place and then back to Volvo Ely via a142.

Hi skyLink

I believe you're correct with regards to the A142 and Witchford. I'm not familiar with Volvo's Ely dealership, so cannot comment. At least one part of the exterior footage (from 0.07) was taken in the centre of Ely - you can see a Neals Jonckheere coach in the background.

The MCV premises are very much alive & kicking at Sutton. It's a small site with little or nothing to see to the casual observer, but the workshop and offices inside are a hive of activity, take it from me. The clip at 10:08 shows the approach to the power station - MCV's site being out of shot across the as yet undeveloped land to the right.

At the launch, it was said they were'nt far away. These will carry a black livery with silver branding, and the service will be known as Dragonfly.

dearie me! maybe not black then, but this was announced by the op at the time. I assumed the name would at least be used... maybe added to the existing branding upon reciept?
