The 554 had 30 minutes running time between St. Ives and Huntingdon, which was generally attainable. The 55 gets 28 minutes, and, although it takes a different route through Oxmoor, I would think that the distances would be similar to those of the 554. So yes, a bit tight for time, but the Cambridge side has been given an extra 7 minutes. No doubt, when the 55 goes along the Busway, this 7 minutes will be magically removed to justify Ruth Kelly's claim that the Busway will " massively reduce journey times". Am I being cynical? We shall see.
