Irizar coach in Northampton
« on: March 02, 2010, 06:48:20 PM »
There was a rather fine Irizar coach in St James Mill Road in Northampton  today. It carried no legals, no registration and no trade plates

It was in a livery for Ashtons, which a google check suggests is based in St Helens, Lancs

Perhaps the fact that it was parked about 100 yards from Country Lion's yard might be significant

Any ideas, anyone?

Pure guesswork mind you, but the lack of legal lettering could point to it not being in Ashton's ownership any more.

The paper on the dashboard could also be some kind of legal documentation allowing it to be moved.

Last time I saw this was about 6 weeks ago. It still looked brand new, was still in this livery, but was being operated by New Adventure Travel in Cardiff.

It may of been at Elite Paint and Body, which was next door to Country Lion, I should imagine it doesn't have a lot to do with Country Lion as they have now moved to Oxwich Close, Brackmills and have been there a number of months. Country Lions yard is now occupied by a UPVC fascia company.

I wonder if the Irizar was originally ordered by Ashtons, but cancelled before delivery ?

Lack of number plates suggests being moved on trades with them being taken out while driver not in there we were always told to keep plates with you at all times just a thought
