Despite their route 152 (Bedford - St. Neots) being cut back to terminate at Kimbolton as from next Monday, cedar Coaches will still be seen in St. Neots once a week on their Bedford Borough Council supported route 154 from Renhold.  Even though passenger numbers are low, this route is sometimes worked by a double decker.

The last day of the 152 through from Bedford to St Neots on Saturday 2nd April was serviced by a white 57-seater that bore no markings AT ALL on a handful of journeys, with the bulk of the runs being done by YW 53 SVW. The 57 seater sounds like BEZ 7262 but confirmation would be welcome.

Scanned ticket from the last day - note the ERG machine's ticket cutting blade had long gone, so every ticket got jammed upon issue! Note also the BedfordDart remains as the logo - and the pre-ENCTS ticket class choices!

This is good by Cedar's standards.  It is not uncommon for there to be no ticket machine at all on some of their journeys, especially when a double decker is used on the 154 (Thursday's only from Renhold to St. Neots).

John,

The current BABUS sec Godfrey W travelled into St Neots on the white coach, and he said that it was everything a rural bus service should not be (and I am sure he won't mind me quoting this!) The bus was allover white, no route number, no destination, no external lettering, lots of high steps, no ticket machine or emergency ticket book, no timetables, and anyone asking about the forthcoming change on Monday was greeted with "I don't know, it's not going to be us" with a touch of distate.

As has already been mentioned, Beds Borough Council tenders are currently being evaluated, with plans to start in July.
