Bus Fire in Waltham Abbey

This is likely to affect Regal Busways route 211 (Waltham Cross - Waltham Abbey - Breach Barns mobile home park), which is the only bus route along Gallyhill Road (the Guardian incorrectly refers to it as Gally Hill).

TWH have a base along that road as well, but they do not have any buses which run 'in service' along that road.

The bus involved was TWH Dennis Dart Plaxton Pointer P684RWU ex SM Coaches. The bus is gutted and will be written of. The front end will be removed and put on R477LGH which will go to TWH from Roadrunner.

Thanks for the interesting info. Maybe I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions that it was a Regal bus lol  ::). Any ideas what the bus was doing, seeing as the paper says it was at Galleyhill Road, where only Regal operate passenger services?
Also, why are SM still going to be involved with this bus, seeing as its with TWH now? Unless, its loaned from SM?

By the sounds of it, TWH are going to kill two birds with one stone and have bought accident damaged R477LGH from RoadRunner and fit the front from their own Dart that has just gone up in smoke. They get a cheap bus, and Roadrunner get rid of a Dart they probably weren't going to repair anyway.
Possibly SM coaches are going to be the ones carrying out the repairs?

You have answered your own question with your first post, you said that TWH have their depot on that road ;)

The idea was that 677, 684 and 477 was to go from SM Coaches/Roadrunner. But 677 blew up the engine, 684 is fire damage and 477 is accident damage. So the idea is 684 to have its front end of, and put on 477 and make it ready for TWH.
