Routes 204 and 206

I noticed on the NCC Bus Services Website that these two routes stop from 6/09/09, which means that they must have run for the last time this week:

204 Thrapston to Northampton weekly on Wednesdays (Stagecoach United Counties)

206 Burton Latimer to Peterborough weekly on Thursdays (Hamiltons & Buckbys Coaches)

I understand that Northamptonshire County Council are reducing their financial support for bus services by a considerable amount (well into 6 figures).  I thought this was to take affect from 1st April next so are these changes a taste of what is to come?

It would appear that Hamilton & Buckby's are now operating service 206 commercially as it was still operating. Plaxton bodied B10M    VIL 6267 is operating the service today.
