Farewell trip on SiP 22, 32, 36
« on: April 14, 2011, 09:57:57 PM »
Saturday will see the demise of SiP routes 22 (Deeping) and 32 (Chatteris), also the 36 beyond Thorney (to Wisbech). Believe it or not, it is possible (if all goes to plan) to travel on the final journeys of all three routes, as follows:

1340-1452  SiP 32 Peterboro - Chatteris (LAST EVER 32)
1510-1530  SiC X9 Chatteris - March
1540-1650  SiP 33 March - Peterboro
1745-1850  SiP 36 Peterboro - Wisbech (LAST EVER 36 TO WISBECH)
1922-1958  FEC X1 Wisbech - Peterboro
2010-2105  SiP 22 Peterboro - Deeping - Peterboro (LAST EVER 22)

If anyone cares to join me, and stays the course, there's a pint in it for you.
Will probably do the 1210 route 22 as well (joining at Werrington) in case the evening connection off the X1 doesn't work.
Cheers!
Brendan

This is of course the last day of the X9 as well.  Although you are not intending to use the the last journey, a ride on this is worth a mention.
Hope the trips go well, if I was up in the area I would join you as i love these kind of "last journey" trips

Hope to join you Brendan.

Unfortunately I will be unable to qualify for your pint as the need to get the last X4 home means that I cannot do the last 22.

However I hope to cover the 22 by catching the 12.10 (if the incoming X4 is not too late)

Many thanks to Brendan for organising this farewell.

For the record last bus on 32 was MAN 22333 (AE51RZM), on 36 journeys to Wisbech was MAN 22337 (AE51RZR) and on 22 was ALX200 Dart 33399 (R366JVA).  We also travelled on MAN 22310 (AE51RYG) on X9 between Chatteris and March and First B9TL 37575 (AU58ECZ) between Wisbech and Peterborough. Nearly travelled on Dekkerbus open topper too, but this departed before we could get across the road. This was operating a shuttle service between Woolworths and the Showground along with P492MBY.

Thanks Brendan for working out the plan, and sorry I couldn't spend the whole afternoon/evening with the ATVBF members who supported the get together. Here are pics of Dart 33399 - which was on 22s for most of the day, pictured leaving Queensgate with the 11:10 departure to Deeping, whilst MAN 22333 is pictured at Chatteris after arrival with the last 32 the 13:40 from Peterborough.
