New Park & Ride ticket machines
« on: July 27, 2011, 09:26:25 PM »
Spotted at Madingley Road on Tuesday evening - after C picked me up, I asked her to slow down and I wound down the window! Notice the old machines covered in bin bags!

People were moaning about how the current machines don't give you change and won't accept notes or credit cards. Seeing as they have only appeared at Madingley so far, they're probably a trial....would be nice to see them get rolled out across all P&R sites.

Perhaps one or two at Drummer St could also be an idea, selling tickets and day tickets for all Stagecoach and Whippet services?

These have been in service at Madingley for a couple of months now (we used one on 21 May).  Essentially they appear to use the same shell and guts as the latest railway TVMs.  The major improvement is that they will take cards, give change and can sell you multiple tickets at the same time.
Can not remember if you could buy more than just a P&R return (as that was all we bought) but there is clearly scope here for future expansion, for example DayRiders, MegaRiders, X5 tickets, City Sightseeing etc.
