That's a long way to hire a unit! I'm guessing there was no other spare Sprinters closer to Crown Point. Must be the first time since 2005 since a 150 has done these rural lines.

From reading on AG I believe they will only be used if they really have to. They are to cover for unit shortages, including the 153s going for C6 exams and the smashed 156

Info with thanks to Various on Anglia-Gen Yahoo

Theres a lot of speculation, guessing and hearsay of how and where this unit will be used......

But if you recall, NXEA hired in two Class 153's from London Midland not so long ago and all the talk of them "being kept together" and "for Sheringham's only" and "wont stray far from Norwich" turned out to be all hot air..... They turned up almost everywhere on NXEA (Rural) north of Ipswich...

I think i can safely say that NX will utilise it "as required" and that it will turn up anywhere and everywhere that they currently use the 153/156 and possibly 170 fleet... And from experience, it is a common thing for the 153's to stray (be it in single or multiple) onto the Cambridge-Ipswich, Cambridge-Norwich and even the Ipswich to Peterborough's.......so i wouldn't rule out seeing the 150 at Peterborough or even on the Sudbury/Felixstowe Branches.
