GW 1A, 1B service changes
« on: January 12, 2012, 05:10:50 PM »
New timetable from 16th January 2012 - looks like updated i.e. withdrawing Sun evening buses. However, apart from the updates about the Coastal service, can't see anything else, unless I've missed it!

I see some minor tweaks on the 21, but when/what is changing on the 22?

To be honest other than the boss telling everyone there's a new timetable I agree I don't think much has changed, but both the 21 and 22 have now been incorporated into one timetable. Changes to the 22 that jump out to me are that the 1623/1723 departures from St Ives now depart at 1630/1730. This allows more time for the connecting service C's to arrive.

This service is being replaced by an improved town service subsidised (and serving) the new Sainsbury's store in Lisle Lane.  The service will operate for a longer day but I don't know if it will operate on Saturdays.  The operator has been chosen so the service registration should appear on the VOSA site soon.

Yes the service should be operating 0700-1900 I believe. This put it out of our scope as it wasn't viable without a school run in there somewhere.

Do the Busway vehicles do school runs?

A quick glance at the VOSA website now should give a clue...

Buchanan Street?

BTW on Ninja's Blog, mentions this is the furthest NG have came south. Can anyone find me a timetable for the NG Service that ran on Sundays from Lynn to Cambridge, with Burtons I think? (I am sure the Busman gave me a snap of it at one stage...)

I think they may have meant Buchan St Roundabout, which I believe is just off Kings Hedges Rd  :):).

Out of curiosity, why did the 14 need extra running time? Speed cameras?  ;D

I don't have the timetable, however I do remember the Sunday route being number 19 between King's Lynn/Wisbech & Cambridge - there are some photos of buses working the route about on flickr.

Published November 11th, 2011
No. 14 bus service change
Whippet coach

Whippet coach

The No. 14 bus service operated by Whippet Coaches from Cambridge City Centre – to Arbury Estate Circular Monday – Friday has a revised route which is will affect West Chesterton residents. There are winners and losers. Instead of leaving the city centre via Bridge Street and Histon Road it will now be via Victoria Avenue and Milton Road.

The principal effect is that this half-hourly service will no longer stop in Carlton Way (between Gilbert Road and Metcalfe Road) on its way to and from the city centre. Instead the bus will go via Milton Road and Arbury Road. The timetable and map of the bus stops have not yet been published. The changes take place on 5 December.

With regards to Services 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, I've gone through the timetable and updated as required. If any of the Whippet posse spot anything wrong, do let me know!  ;D
