Noted a Class 153 Sprinter working the 0641 to Ipswich from Cambridge this morning.

theres two of them at the moment 153306 and 153309 all of our 153s will be that colour eventually

This train is programmed to be worked by a 153 with then forms the standby unit at Ipswich

The 0641 and 2243 from Cambridge (and the respective inbound workings, obviously) are booked for Class 153's.... Everything else is Booked Class 170.

why is this then, thought they wanted all services to be 170 operated.
Last bus trips:
603 to transport museum
603 to lowestoft bus station
1A to denes high school.

The very first and last return workings of the day are usually operated by class 153's.

Probably traction knowledge too........ and also the first and last trains rarely justify much more than a "scud".
