Hired in Coach
« on: September 23, 2012, 08:40:53 AM »
Bit of a " long shot " this one , I'm afraid . but here we go .

For many months one of the Volvo B9 / Plaxton Elites that Stagecoach Oxford operate their National Express Route between Oxford and Stansted Airport . Was " impounded " by the Police following an R T A on the A120 near Bishops Stortford , in which a man , who had walked out in front of the Coach was killed .
Now the Court Case has happened , and the Coach Driver , cleared of blame . It has been reported elsewhere that the Coach has been released by the Police , and returned to Stagecoach Oxford .

Therefore ( and the purpose of this topic ) , does any body know why , yesterday . A mid-afternoon departure from Stansted Airport to Oxford was ( still ) worked by the hired in Coach from SGBC - South Gloucestershire Bus & Coach ?

Could be that SGBC were hired in on a weekly/monthly basis, and the contract still has time left over?

And remember the coach will need safety inspection cleaning etc etc. And if impounded long enough it may be the MOT has expired.
