Beccles Loop
« on: December 20, 2012, 08:01:22 PM »
For nearly 2 weeks now (since the start of the new rail timetable) the Beccles Loop has been in operation. This enables an hourly train service to operate between Lowestoft and Ipswich on the East Suffolk Line. Traction has been mixed, 153s are booked for 4 workings with 170s and 156s on the rest. I have taken a few photos through various stages which can be seen here.

Went down yesterday whilst dog walking as its not far from me. Station looks nice now do like how they have done the old platform up. Was just lucky to be there at 12.25 and observe 156402 and 170270 passing through. Think i got the
numbers ok forgot camera and phone was on charge. Sorta reminded me of Haddiscoe in the 60's, lived near there too, used to get taken there around 5pm tosee the trains.
