A 'new' Simonds bus?
« on: March 10, 2013, 06:25:36 AM »
Over the past couple of days I have seen what appears to be a new addition to the Simonds fleet in Bury St. Edmunds. An Alexander ALX300 bodied Volvo carrying registration MSU 916.

Could anyone advise any history?

Thanks
David

Good morning :)

I think this bus will be from the R---KRG batch of Volvo B10BLE's , that Stagecoach bought for its Busways operation up in Newcastle. Ensignbus have bought the batch I believe.

Hope this - almost - helps !   Sorry don't know the  re-registration details.

Could be this:
Ensign in December is as follows, thanks to Ross Newman for the information.
VEHICLES OUT
Volvo B10BLE R239KRG: Simonds of Botesdale, Norfolk.
EDIT: The details on the DVLA's website (https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk) seem to fit this - the old registration no longer returns a result and the details for the new one seem about right.

If you at the interior spec it's Stagecoach seat covers, this has come via Ensign to who took the Volvo Alx's off Stagecoach few months ago.

Someone has commented on Flickr to suggest it might have previously been R239 KRG
