Posting Photos from iPhone
« on: April 02, 2013, 06:31:38 PM »
There appear to be some issues concerning photos posted to the Forum.

See Ninja's posting on Stagecoach Cambridgeshire Happenings 2013 and my reply.

And Palatine One's posting on Richmond's Coaches Happenings 2015

These discussion threads may be of interest:

I've taken some photos myself, with the iPhone oriented in different ways, uploaded them and given details of how the iPhone was oriented for each.

Edit: update to take account of recent posts.

Here's the first photo of two model Southdown Queen Mary buses.

The iPhone is in landscape orientation, with +- buttons to the top right.

Edits: to add photos and text of iPhone orientation.

This next photo is of two other models: a Leland PD1 and a Harrington Grenadier touring coach.

The iPhone is in portrait orientation, with +- buttons to the top left.

This next photograph is of two further model buses: a Bristol utility from Provincial (G&FOC) and an MCW-bodied Leyland from Pompey Corporation (CPPTD).

The iPhone is in landscape orientation, with +- buttons to the bottom left.

The fourth photo is of three vehicles from the north of England: an East Yorkshire AEC Routemaster, a Bradford City Transport AEC and a BCT Weymann trolley-bus in Coronation livery. (Even the internal lighting was a sequence of red-white-blue bulbs – the less royalist-inclined crews derided this as 'the ice-cream cart'!)

The iPhone is in portrait orientation, with +- buttons to the bottom right.

From the above experiments, it would seem that the ONLY orientation for the iPhone for photographs which you wish to post directly to the Forum is in landscape mode with the 'Home button' to the right, and the volume +– buttons on the underneath, bottom left.
