Nope they don't. Come straight from the yard

This just gets more confusing day by day, well today was the turn NFZ 6606 and good old RX51 FNU
wouldn't it just be easier to get permission and pay for tree to be cut down and run one of the double deckers ? (in the long run) along with improving other routes with no backlash from breakdowns etc ?

Found this quite funny (couldn't fix link)

Well the age profile over at trustybus just becomes newer and newer every month, where do I start

Well 10 enviros are due to be fazed in with 2 already in service (I think) due to the spd fleed being withdrawn from service with server all being withdrawn already such as rx51 fnu and fleet numbers spd 1 and spd 8, the buses that will leave are in order of ministry of transport checks or major unit failure with the mpd fleet staying along with the bread vans

With some already in service the 1st enviro is YX08 HCC which is ex webber bus of Bridgwater and is currently in all white with it due to be sent to the paint shop on the 30th of June, the other new addition is LY58 PFX which is a e300 prototype which is only one of two ( the other being with Z & S transport of Aylesbury) it has gained the fleet number EDL35 and is to replace RX51 FNU and sold in part exchange along with spd1 and spd 8 with S93 EGK which was a spares which is now scrapped

Along with this the last Olympian double decker has left the fleet with the only double deckers being galleons double decker coach and there gold and red trident along with trustybus' three tridents one of which is currently in trustybus livery

Noticed an ex-Brighton & Hove MPD on the Loughton local 542/543 today. Couldn't identify the vehicle but the registration began with SNZ I think.

It was still in B&H livery, with a poor attempt being made to remove branding which could still be read. Passengers waiting at the bus stop I was at certainly noticed it, and it prompted them to have a conversation about the state of buses in the area.

Let's hope they buy some more short enviros to replace the mpd's, currently they are due to be operational spare.

Few observations from the past few days:

Saturday 12th July: Enviro200 MPD SK07HLR on route 541. This vehicle is ex-London United SDE15.

Today, Monday 14th July: Mercedes Vario KV51KZD on Loughton locals 542/543. The last time this vehicle type was used on the 542/543 was when Imperial Bus Co. held the contract, and in the first few months of when Arriva held the contract.

It has been on on the 351 quite regularly although I believe it was out on rail replacement duties for a week or two so spd 10 was covering

Dart MPD TNZ1186 was one of the vehicles operating the 541 evening service last night (31st July). I saw it passing through Epping. Would have been the 20.34 service from Loughton.

It didn't have a working destination display, and from what I could see it didn't have the Harlow-style A4 piece of paper either.

Had quite a healthy load of passengers though.

Well one of the short fleet is confirmed to be leaving, unsure of the registration at the moment but believe it to be TNZ1186, was told it was going for scrap due to multiple problems however some seem to think it's being sold to ensign

Ah, if it was fitted with a chair-lift, which many of this batch were, then it would be DDA compliant. However, seeing your photo on Flickr, this vehicle is clearly not fitted with one.

Hi Marcus

I think you're getting mixed up with the former Airbus Royale bodied Olympians, which did indeed have wheelchair lifts fitted in the front doorway.

The later Olympians in the same registration batch were to normal service bus spec for routes around London.

Galleon seem to have a high turnover of vehicles! Their fleet seems to change constantly.

If you're talking about step-entrance double deckers being DDA compliant, it doesn't apply until 2017 I think.

I think your correct about double deckers however surely there mercedes breadvan fleet and the Volvo b10m-55 (which has now been given a in house colour change to all red) are not DDA compliment I would of thought as all 4 are step entrance also have no wheelchair access and the blue breadvans have been seen on the 386 (and 410/410x nearly everyday with B10M-55 on the 351 for the past 3 weeks (including the school holiday)

The deadline for DDA for single-deckers over 7.5 tonnes is the end of 2015 so the B10M has a few more months to live before it can't be used on normal services again.  It was the deadline for vehicles under 7.5t (effectively the van derived minibuses were the only things caught by this) that came in at the end of 2014 but it depends how many seats are in the vehicles as it only applies to buses with 22 or more seats and I know of at least one operator who downseated their 709D to 21-seats to get around that.  The DVSA have stated they will be cracking down on operators still running non-compliant vehicles after the respective deadlines have passed.
