CHANGES TO SOUTH EAST AND MIDLANDS STRUCTURE WILL MAKE BUSINESSES MORE RESPONSIVE TO LOCAL NEEDS

Tuesday 03 September 2013

As part of our strategy to ensure that our businesses are responsive to the needs of customers and other local stakeholders, we are proposing to restructure our South East and Midlands Region.

Our depots will be grouped into two smaller, stronger business units " Midlands business unit consisting of Leicester, Wyvern and Potteries and East England business unit consisting of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex

Each business will be under the leadership of a local Managing Director rather than a centralised Regional Board. Consultations are under way with the very few staff affected. However, for the majority of employees, it will be business as usual with little or no change to job roles.

Talking about the changes, Jeroen Weimar, Chief Operating Officer UK Bus said:

"We recognise the unique circumstances, dynamics and requirements of the cities, towns and villages that we serve across South East and Midlands. We are keen to build on the good relationships we have with our customers and local stakeholders to ensure that we can meet and exceed their expectations going forward.'

"We therefore want to create more flexible and responsive businesses which, under strong local leadership, will deliver even better customer service and position us for growth in these important markets.'

We expect the new structure to be implemented towards the end of October 2013.
