Trident 18409 working services 9/9A on Friday and today (Saturday), a very pleasant change from the route branded rattletraps we usually get.

Let's hope this is not an isolated incident, the rattletraps were out on service as usual as I saw 39697 on the 7 today !!!!!!!

I fleetingly saw a green liveried Enviro400 in Earls Barton on the X47 yesterday lunchtime (Thursday 15 January).

You did David. It is 15453 and is in a modernised version of the United Counties green livery, which it received to celebrate 100 years of United Counties last year

Northampton's MAN 18.240/ADL E300 22836 towed in to Main Road depot by Cowans' impressive bonnetted 8x4 Kenworth last Thursday evening after suffering catastrophic engine failure (big hole in side of engine block). Another one to be returned in due course with a B-series Cummins no doubt.

Speaking to a driver up Corby town veteran Dennis Dart 34121 V174 MVX has just had repairs completed to its underframe by Alexander Dennis. I then seen it for myself heading to Kettering depot.

17 year old Dennis Trident 17037 S837 BWC seen on the X4 heading towards Milton Keynes. And Scania 15455 MX08 GJG was also on the X4. Both on this route for the unavailable Gold vehicle.

Veteran Dennis Dart 34121 V174 MVX back in service in Corby this week. The last operable euro 2 dart in Northamptonshire as 34120 has been off road since December 2014.

I am surprised at 34120/21 still being in service as I have them recorded as non-DDA compliant

The DDA deadline for single-deckers over 7.5t is the end of 2015 so it is not strictly a surprise that such vehicles still appear in service, I am surprised they are repairing them however as they will be due to be withdrawn imminently so it would not seem worthwhile from a cost perspective.

34121 working well on the 3's in Corby today. Whilst in Kettering I noticed 17697 having accident damage repair work being carried out.

Changes to Services X46 and X47

I am emailing to inform you that Stagecoach have informed us of their intention to make changes to services X46 and X47.

With effect from Monday 30th March 2015, most journeys will no longer run between Raunds and Thrapston, meaning that the service will now mostly terminate in Raunds.  This effectively restores the approximate service pattern for service X46 that existed prior to 2011.  There will still be a very small number of journeys which do run as far as Thrapston, but these are at very start and end of the day to suit college students and daytime commuters.

Passengers wishing to travel between Raunds and Thrapston can still catch Centrebus service 16, which will not change.

Passengers wishing to travel between Thrapston and Rushden and Wellingborough can change to service X46/X47 in Raunds and those for Northampton can change to service X4 or X43 in Kettering.

In Raunds, services will operate as follows:

Arriving from Stanwick on Wellington Road and Brook Street, then running Marshall’s Road, London Road, Brick Kiln Road, North Street, High Street and then returning to Stanwick.

Timetables will be available on our website at www.northamptonshire.gov.uk before the change or from Stagecoach on 01604 67 60 60.

I assume the X46/47 changes will reduce the vehicle requirement. Have just had information from Stagecoach Yorkshire that Gold-spec Enviro 400 15196 should have returned to Northampton yesterday with standard-spec 15829 returning to Chesterfield.

I can confirm that 15196 is back in Northampton, as I have just seen it on an X47 inbound at Abington Square.

On another matter, can anyone advise what is happening with the MAN saloons and Tridents that arrived from Scotland in November.

Scania enviro 400 15606 on loan to Corby due to 35226 braking down last week. 15401 operating on the Bedford service yesterday for Kettering depot. I'd imagine these vehicles will return to their respective depots very soon enough
