Didn't see which one, but a MAN was out on the 7 this evening at Pampisford waiting to work back into Cambridge. Seems fairly normal of late to see a Trident on this turn.

Could potentially have been the same one which was doing the 1's earlier which was 22329

Also 18415 was out on city

Enviro 400 19619(AE10BYK) and one other noted heading northbound on the A1 in southern Lincolnshire on Friday afternoon.  Does anyone know why these should be so far from their usual stamping ground?

19619/20 are off to Sheffield to "replace trams" for a while.
Northampton's 19012 has also gone, along with 14 others from across Stagecoach UK Bus.

Two of Fenstanton's Guided Buses were supposed to have gone, but Sheffield rejected them "Out of Gauge" !!

Ex- Manchester E400 19068 MX56FSZ was seen today operating Citi 4s to Cambourne -- I had seen it yesterday (for the first time) And I think it was on Citi 1s (?)

This was one of Three recently transferred to Cambridge [viz 19017/47/68]. 19017 had entered service a week or two ago, & now 19068 has. But, has anybody seen 19047 in service yet ? Or, is it still being prepared for "our" routes ?

19593 just passed me in Royston on a 26. I understand one of the Gold Scanias escaped onto the 26 this morning so presumably the E400 has replaced this.

One of the Tridents (55/06 plate) failed on the 1435 from Bury (Service 11) this afternoon.  I saw it about 1515 pulled over as much as possible onto the soft verge on the A14 just before the turn onto the B1506.  The police had arrived and were setting up a single lane past it.  The passengers were still on the bus.

I was driving in the opposite direction so no chance of a registration.

That would explain why later that afternoon a friend saw Enviro300 AE13DZV in Bury on 11's.

I photographed 18348 (AE55 DKV) leaving Drummer Street at 0853 on service 11 for Bury St. Edmunds and then 18347 (AE55 DKU) at Newmarket at 1312 as it worked the 1235 service from Bury. Whether it was one of these that broke down later in the day I don't know. (There was a similar bus broken down outside the BP garage on Bury Road, Newmarket on Easter Saturday afternoon).

Had a trip into Cambridge and St Ives on Friday (10 April 2015) doing some camera clicking. The album, currently uncaptioned, is at:

Yet more crazy logic from the powers that be:

E400s transferred from Manchester to Cambridge
Existing E400s sent on loan to Sheffield.

Didn't think to use the Manchester vehicles for the Sheffield job on their way down then.....

Sorry to say you're wrong there, as the Full List of 17 vehicles loaned to Yorkshire for this Supertram Replacement Work is as follows:-

10030; 15438/840; 19012/51/65/69; 19128/332/475/619/620/652/653/656/672/692.

These are a mix of vehicles, the oldest being an 06-plate & the newest a 62-plate. The one thing they have in common, is that they are all Enviro 400s

Seems to me that Yorkshire put a request out for 17 vehicles to other Group members & possibly just said they need to be E400s - send us what you can ? It was then up to the other Group members to send what they deemed best & could spare ?

Probably because they are Scanias and the rest are AD Tridents?

No not really. As I said the other Group members are normally asked to send anything they could spare that was an E400, be it Scania or Trident !

Does anyone know why Sheffield required replacement vehicles at so short notice?

It wasn't short notice and had been planned for several months - with vehicles nominated. It's for Supertram replacement work that is taking place in three phases. The plan has looked at PVR spares and then identified where vehicles could be taken out of the allocation without affecting service requirements, as there has been no back-fill replacements. The Supertram work is in three phases and I believe only phase one needs 18 buses (17 loans and one from within the Yorkshire fleet) so some should return at the end of May - I think the Cambridge ones will be in Sheffield for longer.

I don't think it's been reported elsewhere, but MAN 22058 (KV53 FAF) has been repainted into corporate livery, ex-Cancer Research.

(EDIT: As correctly pointed out on Facebook, by Mutly, 22060 is the Cancer Research MAN. 22058 has merely been repainted)
