I'm assuming that presidents are the regular bus for the 65 as I noted one working it again today.

I expect that's because it's operated after a morning school contract. A number of Dews services, such as 22 and 45A, are operated by double deckers despite not needing their seating capacity.

Morning all,

One of the Ford Transits passed me the other day, it was registered YS 65PTX, don't recall this being with HACT though. I believe one of the ex Whippet Wright Eclipse Gemini's has been repainted, but I've yet to catch up with it at the moment.

A green double decker on the 150 today. Confirmed as V54 MOA. It had a full electronic route number and destination display. A far cry from the 16 seat minibuses previously used by HACT.

Dews used 16 seaters for the first week or two but over the last few days it's been proper buses.

Spotted today on the 150 was a black unbranded Mercedes sprinter mini coach with dews legal lettering on the side, did not get registration number, anyone got any information on this vehicle?

The registration number for this black sprinter is CC62 BOY, with EVM bodywork and formally with golden boy.and now seems to be the regular vehicle for the 65

I have heard 'on the grapevine' that Dews are buying one of the Granta Park route branded Volvo B7RLE Wright Eclipse B44R buses (AE12FGM or AE12FGN) that were on lease to Kenzie, Shepreth.
Presumably Dews will re paint it into their livery and use it on local services. They are not taking on the Granta Park contract which I understand will be passing to Richmonds or Youngs.
Kenzies are pulling out of the contract when they close on 30th August.

BU52ELY was back in Ely on Wednesday and Thursday. I haven't seen that vehicle in Ely for months. The ZIP usually has a white Enviro 200

Short answer - no. I have never seen more than about 10 people on it in Ely. Could pick up a few more at Tescos but I doubt the load ever exceeds 20 and will be under 10 on most journeys.

Mercedes Citaro BT66TZE turned up on the Ely Zip this afternoon. Plain dark blue livery. This is (or was) an Evobus demonstrator.

5 ex Lothian Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL's are now here. They are registered SN55BKJ, SN 55BLV, SN 55BLX, SN 55BNE & SN 55BOH. Of these SN 55BKJ & SN 55BLV are now in fleet livery.

Also noted in use, as of the day before yesterday was another Ford Transit HV 66PZX, noted arriving in Huntingdon.

Ex Whippet LK 54FLD seems to be a regular on the 21 service at the moment, and Alexander bodied Volvo B7TL V410MOA is being used more on local services too. It was on the 45A yesterday.

Evening all !

In use on servicees around St.Ives on the 15th June were the following vehicles :

AE 12FGN Volvo B7RLE - on the 9 & the 15 services
V 49MOA Volvo B7TL on the 22
V410MOA Volvo B7TL on the 1A
V 54MOA Volvo B7TL on the 21
LK 54FLD Volvo B7TL on the 45A

Also in use recently on the 45A has been Volvo B7TL W116DOP, which is not one that often seen in use.

The Transit and VW minibuses that run from st neots to the surrounding villages now have small (almost unreadable!) L.E.D. blinds fitted, anyone know how social distancing can be kept on these minibuses?

The ArrivaClick demand-responsive minibus service was launched in Watford on 1 July. It will initially operate with three minibuses that due to social distancing measures will only be able to carry a maximum of four passengers for the time being.
