The Last Stagecoach 09 plate Volvo B7RLE operating on the busway is now only AE09 GYS which was one of the very first buses to operate on the busway before its opening in August 2011 and is going to be the last to leave after being replaced by BF65 WKS.

For some people that do not know AE09 GYS was also one of the first buses used for driving training on the busway and has been featured in many news articles and television broadcasts prior to the opening of the busway.

Gold YN14 OXC 15952 seem to have spent most of the day on the 8's today and E300 37210 SN64 OKH was helping out in the driving school noted heading into Drummer Street and back out again.

This has probably already been mentioned on the forum but could somebody confirm this to me. Are all of the ten 09 Plate B7RLES being transferred to Cambridge or just eight of then because all the new B8RLES are now in service and I have heard news that Fenstanton are keeping a couple in its fleet making a total of 17 Volvos.

(B7RLE AE09 GYS in service this evening operating the A service)

(Seen today parked in Victoria Avenue AE09 GYR has had its busway branding removed but still wears its blue and green paint work)
Of the NEW Volvo B8RLE's, 21301-7 have ONLY been seen in Service by myself. I have seen no sign of 21308-10 BF656X/Y/Z yet !.

The E200 was most probably being used for Type Training for drivers that have recently passed their tests.

A little bit of a surprise this afternoon was the use of Generic Park & Ride Enviro 400 19299 on the 544 Impington VC to Milton school run.

- I have heard news that AE09 GZA is the only 09 B7RLE left in service with Fenstanton, I will check this out on Saturday and feedback on the fourm (AE09 GZA Working the A service today as stated in my previous post) Does anybody know if AE09 GZA is going to stay with Fenstanton as a busway reserve making the Volvos up to a fleet of 16 or will it eventually be transferred over to Cambridge?

-Also I find it odd if this is not the case because I would of thought that Stagecoach would of transferred the Bio bus liveried B7RLE's to Cambridge first and not last.

-Last of all does anybody know why Scannia AE09 GYC has been the only Scannia to be painted into a darker tone of green? (maybe a darker paint was used by mistake)

Given the lack of L' plates that makes sense.

Today was another occasion when a Park & Ride E400 was uised on the 1545 Impington VC - Milton Ser 544. This time it was Green 19313.

Also, 21309 BF65WKY was noted in use on the Busway.

This would seem to be incorrect, as 21222 AE09GYS was operating Busway A journeys today !

Not sure whether this is going to be a regular working for a Park & Ride bus, but the other Generic machine 19300 was used today.

Its possible that a duty now includes a Pk & Ride bus coming off the Depot, doing the 544 Impington - Milton & then running empty to Milton P&R site & so increasing the PVR on the Milton - Babraham P & R service ??

My X5 commute home went completely belly up last night, after the fire on the M11 brought Madingley Road to a halt...

The official diversion was to use Milton Road/A14 - sadly not stopping at the Science Park as it would be very useful to me. The 1725 went off-piste, though - after I got on at Victoria Avenue, we had a tour of Mitchams Corner, Victoria Road, Shelly Row, Madingley Road (eastwards), Northampton Street, back to Mitchams Corner, then as planned - as all roads were gridlocked this added about 45 minutes delay, and with Milton Road jammed too we were about an hour later into St Neots.

The rest was pretty uneventful - except that we overtook another Oxford-bound X5 coach, trying to turn right out of the B1040 coming from St Ives direction. No idea what route they had been treated to.

Do X5 drivers not get trained on diversions? Or at least provided with maps?

If there is planned diversion, yes maps and stuff are organised.

Unplanned you just gotta have good map in your head!

Plus if they have or can get anybody to do it ?? It just depends on the Rotas, Rest Days & Volunteers willing to work ??

Stagecoach in Cambridge did some several years ago then stopped.  The drivers were frequently controllers or other supervisors - visible then by the white shirts (drivers had blue) which always amused me.
