Cambridge tenants to receive free travel with Stagecoach East

Stagecoach East has developed a promotional campaign with three Cambridge estate agents to provide five day free travel for individuals and families who sign a new tenancy agreement during the next three months.

Cambridge tenants who move into rental properties let by Carter Jonas Bradshaws, Cheffins and TuckerGardner estate agents this spring will each receive a personalised invitation to travel by bus, with a smartcard that comes pre-loaded with five free days of travel and a timetable showing bus routes that serve the residents’ new home address.

“Lots of routines change when people move house,” says Andy Campbell, managing director of Stagecoach East. “It’s a stressful time, but it’s also a great opportunity for people to reflect on what they’d like to do differently – which may include improving how they get around the city for work and leisure.

“By offering free bus travel for five days, we’re encouraging people to consider using a more sustainable alternative to the car, and one that helps to reduce congestion in the city.”

The five free days of travel can be used by different people within the same household; the offer doesn’t have to be used on consecutive days and is valid for six months. The Stagecoach smartcard can be topped up online at the end of the free period.

Kirstie Watts, assistant lettings manager, Carter Jonas Bradshaws, says: “We see huge value in our partnership with Stagecoach East and making life a little bit easier for our tenants when they move. We understand how much there is to think about at this time, and getting around now needn’t be one of them.”

Stagecoach East anticipates that more than 250 Cambridge households will enjoy free travel over the months ahead as a result of this partnership.

Can be a game changer, I think there will be more than 250 households that will enjoy the travel
