Lynx to start Hunstanton fast service
« on: February 20, 2016, 08:52:23 PM »
Now that Stagecoach has ceased its fast services to Hunstanton, Lynx is starting a starting an hourly service 36 from the 29th March.  This will link with the trains at Kings Lynn.  As an aside, the current Great Northern timetable A7 says that information on through bus services are available on www.Norfolkgreen.co.uk - no mention of Lynx.  The timetable does not include the bus connections to Hunstanton as it used to.

The timetables are not on the Lynx website yet.  The news item is here http://www.lynxbus.co.uk/news/fast-buses/

Yes - there was a small publicity review in GTR.
The two timetable books A and B don't have any bus times, except for the Luton Airport - Parkway 888, which is now ran by London General for Thameslink.
The books A and B are also only from stations, with a smaller print run done.
Bigger run of leaflets I am guessing, so no real saving lol!

I think Lynx are losing ground on NG in recent months, seems to be less on their buses compared to winter last year, summer may well pick up again do feel that their target passengers are bus pass holders to be honest

Lynx have more drivers than buses than they require after the coasthopper debacle, suggests to me that they will now put the emphasis on this fast service to Hunstanton rather than attempt a full service to Cromer, time will tell I guess

In terms of the through train tickets they are advertised in the timetable but very hard to get hold of, you cant buy these from the self service machines at stations like Littleport, Downham, Watlington and Ely, neither can you online although the Hunstanton ticket can still be bought on Virgin East Coast it cant be on GTR website, Wells Next to the Sea cant be bought online at all only at the desk in Ely and Downham so can the Hunstanton ticket, Sandringham, Heacham and Burnham Market have been scrapped, also there was never no posters at stations ever advertising such tickets

Its rather ironic that running the Coasthopper fast to and from Hunstanton  was what Norfolk Green employed against First.

But what's going on here

 - GO WEST TRAVEL LTD T/A STAGECOACH IN NORFOLK, 100 COWLEY ROAD, CAMBRIDGE, CB4 0DN

Variation Accepted: Operating between King's Lynn Bus Station and Hunstanton Bus Station given service number 10/10C/10d/11 effective from 28-Mar-2016. To amend Timetable.

Sandringham House and Museum is open daily from 26th March so probably a couple of extra 11s, in regards to the 10 probably remove the stop at the hospital
