United Motorcoaches
« on: June 27, 2016, 08:58:22 PM »
Just had a ride to Bournemouth on SC65015 a FJ58 plate Caetano Levante bodied Scania . Obvious ex one of the National Express contractors , but now fully liveried up for United Motorcoaches .
It was on contract hire to Sunrise Direct Holidays , from Lowestoft .

My only comment , .......it went like a rocket its 100kph seemed to be much faster that most other traffic on the M1 & M 3!

Going to be " subbed " overnight , as the Air-Con doesn't work , so we were cooked today . And a few other minor probs , like the microphone not working .

Interesting to see what we have for the rest of the tour ?

Whilst being aware of RATP Dev owned United Motor Coaches I have not really done much reading about them. Their website is quite detailed from a commercial point of view but from an enthusiast point of view is somewhat repetitive.

There are a number of photographs of vehicles although they seem to be the same four that are featured on the various pages all seemingly taken during the same photoshoot. Fully painted in the red and white livery are a Plaxton Premiere coach and a Plaxton President double decker bus. Then there is a traditional London red Routemaster (WLT 880) and an all white Caetano Levante. Other than the RM all registrations are blanked out. The gallery page also includes an all red Plaxton President double decker. (The double deckers both carry the name ‘United Transit’). This is a link to the gallery:

Hope the rest of your tour goes well Andrew. Let us know how you go on. By the way what was the full registration of the Levante you travelled on?
