Fenstanton's 18413 was seen on the A10 at Waterbeach this morning at about 0950 heading for Cambridge empty, presumably having come from Ely's Lancaster way.....
Not something i was expecting to see

Also two E300's out on 9's today
27845 has worked 0900 Ely to Cambridge and 1219 Ely to Cambridge and
27847 has worked 0915 Cambridge to Ely and 1215 Cambridge to Ely...

It has been confirmed that nine former Stagecoach East Cambridge Park & Ride Enviro 400s will transfer to Stagecoach West on loan to provide additional capacity for the March race meeting at Cheltenham. The seven vehicles are 19295/98/99, 19300/02/04/06/07/08. 19298 and 19306 have been reported as already moving to Swindon depot. Following the race meeting all nine will be taken to Bus & Coach World in Blackburn for removal of the centre doors and repaint before transferring to Stagecoach East Midlands. The nine vehicles in use at Cheltenham will carry the full spectrum of the Cambridge Park & Ride colours - blue, red, green and grey.

Surely this isn't great!!! Is it really this bad or just an excuse to cut out part of a route.?
Surely the police should be called, if a bus can't get though surely neither can a fire engine or even an ambulance?!

Police unlikely to be interested - they certainly won't have resources to act in a hurry. Stagecoach controllers have done the best they can by notifying passengers. The Fire Brigade would lift/push a car out of the way if needed. Bus companies can't do that.....

I was at the Cambridge United v Doncaster match, last night & the tannoy announcer read out two car registrations that were causing that obstruction !!! The owners were told to go & move them or the Police would !!!  Unfortunately, all some of these drivers (Home or Away Fans) are ever concerned with, is going to the Match !! They Don't take care, or can't be bothered, to check if their parking is causing an obstruction to possible Emergency Vehicles or whether its a consistantly used Bus Route !!??

Whilst on the Buses, when I met that problem on Whitehill Estate, I'd notify Control to say what the problem was. As soon as they'd given authority to miss it out on subsequent trips, that was it !! I was ONLY going to Reverse Up ONCE, especially in the Dark !!

Noted In Service today was the Final NEW Green Park & Ride bus 10798 SN66VZW to be delivered to Cambridge. It had developed a problem as it was about to be delivered last week & had spent the weekend at Wigan (either the Stagecoach Depot or Alexander Dennis at nearby Skelmersdale) I cannot confirm which day it arrived in Cambridge, but must be between Monday & Wednesday ?

Therefore. the whole batch of 22 NEW Park & Ride vehicles 10789-10810 are now ALL HERE & available for Service!!

Skelmersdale! Hope Alexander Dennis have a very secure compound.

Arriva don't actually have armed bus-guards on the Wigan-Southport services, but...

Sorry I might be being thick here. Is this to repaint into current scheme or the new one they are talking about? If it is the new one does anyone know what it looks like?

I wasn't aware that this new branding was anything other than speculative, at this point in time.

Hopefully while they're repainting the things, they're giving them a tidy-up inside too......!

The last two original Park & Ride vehicles (19299 and 19300) were collected today and are (were) on their way to Cheltenham. However, info has been received that both have engine trouble en-route and require attention.

A change of plan it seems has seen former Park & Ride E400s 19309-16 transferred to Stagecoach East Scotland and not Stagecoach South.

Well i guess they are only used to pootleing around in traffic in Cambridge between the Park and Ride sites and not being driven up dual carriage ways very often.....
Looks like my catch of 19300 in Waterbeach on the 9 the other week was a lucky catch...

The night buses used to be single decks brought out from Cowley Road.  They had regular drivers as well.

Elites in disgrace again. Not only was the 0600-ish from St Neots eastbound cancelled due to a breakdown, but 54316 shed its engine compartment door on Madingley Road this evening. The driver stopped to retrieve it and put it in the boot but it took a while to restart as there are interlocks... struggled to Madingley P&R to get out of the way and wait for the next one.

... and 54304 this morning had the toilet fire alarm ringing for most of the way between St Neots and Cambridge (including unscheduled stop at Caxton Gibbet to confirm that there was no fire). Harumph.

Noticed this morning (2/4/17) that while wandering around the outside of the depot at Cowley Road the long term resident Alexander PS 20513 that had seemingly being used as seat store has disappeared presumably to a scrapman....

Also about the depot was the solo that normally is found on the Ely city service 47659...

That vehicle seems to spend quite a lot of time off the road (in Ely).  E200 37215 was out in its place today.
