Northamptonshire Bus Companies 1920-1950
« on: December 19, 2017, 12:05:33 PM »
Please move if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I'm currently studying a Masters degree in History (local history to be precise) and for my dissertation I am going to be studying the impact of bus services in Northamptonshire during the period 1920 - 1950.  I was wondering if anyone has a list of all the companies which existed during this period.

I have Roger Warwick's bygone buses book and could compile it from that but wondered if someone already had the list compiled.

Any help would be gratefully received.

As a side note I will be looking at the impact of the 1930 Road Traffic Act, the impact on women, the impact on workers and the impact on leisure.

If you go to the Omnibus Society website at www.omnibus-society.org and click on Branches and Groups. Select Provincial Historical Research Group and you will find a sub heading Bygone buses of Northamptonshire. Roger has listed all Northamptonshire operators here.

Hope this helps.
