With regard to the exchange of vehicles, usually when newer ones are moved out and replaced with older ones, then a sale is usually on the cards.

With regard to Go West Travel, the company has had a Return of Allotment of Shares for 21/01/2019  - check via Companies House website.

Further a recent issue of Buses had an interview with the retiring MD of Stagecoach East done by our very own Steve Knight.

In that it was commented that Go West may be absorbed into Stagecoach East, possibly at the end of this April financial year.
The most amazing comment made by the MD was that "Norfolk CC do not like large bus companies", possibly the excuse for Lynx taking all its contracts thereby hastening its departure from Kings Lynn.

The simple reason being that Norfolk like many other authorities accept the lowest bids.

Commenting on the 505, which is now rather unreliable, Andy said they thought the drivers at Kings Lynn would move to Long Sutton.
However they chose not to with the result that the service is assisted with some drivers from Peterborough and Kendal, yes Kendal.

Think the comment about Norfolk CC not liking big bus companies was to save face personally, Lynx undercut them on all the tenders and from what I know they was always going to undercut them

In terms of Andy thinking the drivers would go to Long Sutton it was probably never going to happen when most either lived Fakenham way or got jobs at Lynx which meant they didnt have to travel put of Kings Lynn, perhaps had they kept Hamlin Way open for the 505 operation it could have been different but the question of would it been logistically viable the answer is probably not besides quite alot of drivers were loan drivers anyway from either Portsmouth or Liverpool

Time will tell what their plans are for Go West and the 505 route perhaps they have tried to operate it for a year and they feel its not working and is problematic being cut off from Peterborough, also a route like the 505 could be targetted by either Lynx or Brylaine

Former Norfolk Green Enviro 400 10055 is still operating out of Long Sutton, was seen this evening at Sutton Bridge heading back to the yard around 7pm

Is this one being held back a little longer to cover the ALX400 that run into the ditch at Clenchwarton last week, when I went past the scene today the lamp post was still down but there appears to be no skid marks on the road

Steve Knight has reported the Long Sutton operation will go to Stagecoach East Midlands, I guess now we have got to the bottom of the bus transfers last week with the Enviro 400s being moved over to Cambridge and ALX400s coming the other way

With the Long Sutton operation going to Stagecoach East Midlands is it possible this route could be extended from Spalding to Skegness or Spalding to Lincoln

This situation gets stranger.

It reminds me when before the sale of the NBC, Lincolnshire had garages in Boston and Holbeach.
Holbeach buses had servicing done by Boston garage but when the garage was closed so did Holbeach as there was no where near for the servicing.

Route 505 operated from Holbeach was still profitable even with competition from Fowlers.

Holbeach garage is now a factory shop.

The Long Sutton "depot" is in the yard of MRK Plant Hire at 53 Lime Walk.

THis weeks N&Ps had the following
PF1120468 SN   JUDITH BROOKES & JULIAN W BROOKES
Partner(s): JULIAN WILLIS BROOKES, JUDITH BROOKES
SILENI, TOWNDAM LANE, DONINGTON, SPALDING, PE11 4TR
New operating centre: 53 LIME WALK, LONG SUTTON, SPALDING, PE12 9HQ
New authorisation at this operating centre will be: 2 vehicle(s)

Might have no significance just happens to be the same address.

Another company operating in the area and have taken some school routes from Stagecoach is GDS 2016 LTD - PF1147094 - and they have just increased their vehicle authorisation from 6 to 11 vehicles at their depot shown as THE WAREHOUSE, MAIN ROAD, LONG SUTTON, SPALDING, PE12 9EF

AE06 GZS is in Wisbech bus station, Cambus legals and no Roadcar on hire sign in window

Could it be that the March to Wisbech routes 46 and 56 moved to Cambus when the 505 transfered to Lincoln Roadcar

The transfer of Long Sutton to Road Car (Sc East Midlands) has still to take place. When the announcement was made it was the start of the consultation process with the unions. As far as I am aware the transfer is still going ahead but no date has been set.

The works have just had a "trial run" on the 4th and 5th - Stagecoach East had a warning on their website for this.

Yes indeed at Sutton Bridge, there was a 2 day trial last week to test out materials they plan to use on the bridge and how traffic reacted to the closure

They had traffic light system in place allowing vehicles over one side whilst other side was shut, its now open again until works start forn4 weeks on 30th September but this date could be put back again

Trainee bus driver job advertised

Key point below is the mention of Lincoln, free travel for spouse based on East Midlands Mega Rider and the email for more info points towards east midlands

So we have a situation where the drivers come under Lincoln control, buses still have Go West legals and are still interchanged and serviced at Peterborough

I wonder if the advert is a cut and paste of a Lincoln one.

I understand that Long Sutton depot along with the existing vehicle allocation passes to East Midlands next weekend.

What does this now entail

Will the Go West legals be replaced with Roadcar

Where will the buses be serviced

Will there still be Peterborough buses used on the route and Long Sutton ones in Peterborough

And finally will I still be able to buy the Cambridgeshire Dayrider

I can't see that this advert would attract many people.  Are they suggesting that they would pay £8.21 for 13 months and then £? thereafter.  £8.21 must be at or near minimum wage.  I have a friend who joined Stagecoach in Cambridge in May and I am pretty certain that his pay went up as soon as he went out on his own.

Also the free travel concession is not very clear.  Does it apply to all UK Stagecoach buses (I always thought it did) and its value depends on how much you use it. Giving the travel concession a value like that invites HMRC to tax it at that rate!

I have an NX travel pass and no value has ever been put on that.

The legals will be changed, buses will most likely be serviced at the closest Stagecoach East Midlands depot and all of our buses at the depot at the moment will most likely be transferred to Peterbourgh our whilst the London Sutton depot receives its new fleet from Stagecoach East Midlands. :) - Can’t confirm this but it would make sense for them to do this. You should be able to buy the Cambridgeshire day rider from your phone still. Think you can buy any ticket if you change your location on the Stagecoach Bus App. Please correct me if I’m wrong with any of this.
Thanks!

Have a good day!
