One of the MANs - the one ending -XN? - was on a wreckers' truck on the A421 today. Presumably on a one way trip to Barnsley.

Would seem to be to maximise the number of Euro 5 vehicles in Cambridge.
All Tridents (unless re-engined?) are Euro 3 as are 19017, 19047 & 19068. I believe 19164 (still at CB is Euro 4).
Maybe they are hoping that some future Public funding will awarded to upgrade most of the fleet to Euro 6?
If, as suggested, the ex Fenstanton Tridents are only short term and are to be replaced by the ex West Scania, that would mean the CB fleet is all Euro 5 or 6 (I believe Scania 15456-15465 are probably Euro 4, Can anyone confirm)?

Someone told me years ago that Stagecoach like to have new buses in Cambridge due to the nature of the city ie with the university and alot of visitors, the thought or sight of a 14 year old ALX400 would do nothing to enhance either Stagecoach or Cambridges credibility

I am guessing the ALX400s that are moving to Long Sutton are those that are used for school contracts and that construction contract that picked up at Babraham Park and Ride, as said above its unacceptable to use them in normal service in Cambridge it then leaves them with a  allocation of buses they cant use which then makes them short

I was noticing the other day that the buses on the 1 are now older than the buses they replaced were when they arrived.  Are we suffering from the effects of bus travel in Cambridge being less profitable than it once was by way of seeing older buses?

The CBC/Skanska Construction Contract operates to and from Trumpington Park and Ride, not Babraham Park and Ride.

Just noticed this on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/Tdpxto .

Does anyone know where and why they have arrived?

Would this link to euro category as previously mentioned?

I suppose they fit in with the busway/ex-busway fleet anyway.

David.

Not physically seen by me but it appears 10053 has made the journey to Cambridge as according to bus tracker its now en route to Oakington on the C6 with the 1025 from Cambridge, tracker does show it as a 6 to Hampton so if you search for it in Cambridge it doesn't appear, seems to be a quirk with the tracker as the ex Bedford e200's when operating at Cambridge c2 show the destination as Elstow Park and Ride as if it was operating a 2 from Bedford.......

Afternoon all,

Noted in service at Cambridge today were Enviro 400'S  10052 SN12EHM & 10053 SN12EHO, both on Citi routes & new to Norfolk Green.  Ex PBO machines I believe.

Also in service were Enviro 400 bodied Scanias 15637 SF 10CCO  & 15641 SF 10CCY, one of which was noted on the 12.   I believe these were new to Stagecoach Western Scottish, but may well have been elsewhere since.

There were three Enviro 200's on the AE 08NVS, AE 08NVU & SN 64OKK,  the majority of which were on the Citi 2.

Interestingly the Citi 5 produce 3 ex Guided Busway Enviro 400's today, AE 10HFA, AE 10HFB & one of the 64 plates.

Hope this was of interest,

Chris

They were new to Stagecoach west Scotland, not sure where they were allocated to but I seem to remember them running into Kilmarnock I think when I was up there a few years back.

Stagecoach provided Trident 18416 on the 08:41 (Papworth to Addenbrookes) new H this morning. Lightly loaded but the previous two were said to have had more passengers. The hospital doesn't fully move until end of next month so expect loading's to improve.

Poor bit of journalism, really. It’s a story about subsidised services. Moreover, service H is newly created, and there’s no mention of the future of Whippet’s X3.

Keeping it brief, full details please on the Long Sutton thread, the movement of buses between Cambridge and Long Sutton could have something to do with the Long Sutton operation going to Stagecoach East Midlands

Timekeeping on the Swavesey services today has been truly terrible. Admittedly, there's one-way working, with lights, just past Bar Hill, but the delays going through those isn't more than 2-3 minutes. At around 15.10 this afternoon the 14.50 to Bar Hill was in front of the 14.30 to Swavesey as they headed towards Girton Corner. The latter was 31 mins late at that point.

I'm hoping there's someone on this Forum with the relevant background to explain what's going on here...

In the past 24 hours, I've observed 5 Fenstanston vehicles - 10052/3/4 and 19693/4 - running around with Peterborough services 5 and 6 data rather than Cambridge Citi 5 and 6. There are at least 3 out there on the road as I type this. What I mean is that the data they transmit  - and which is used for real-time tracking/display purposes - says that they're on Pboro trips rather than Cambridge ones. As a consequence there's no real-time data available for the trips they're actually operating.

Is this simply "driver error" - for example, a driver selecting the wrong 5 and 6 journeys off a menu display? Or do these vehicles not even have the Cambridge trips in their computers? Given the vehicle numbers above, could this be related to a transfer/relocation of Peterborough vehicles to Fenstanton? And, finally, how the **** does one get this corrected? Whilst I can "see" the services operating on a map, it's a right pain not to have the real-time showing up in apps (timekeeping on the 5, in particular, has been especially poor in recent weeks).

Thanks.

The local RTPI system, run by contractors, Vix Technology, supplies bus time information for a consortium of local authorities – Cambridgeshire County Council, Bedford Borough Council, Central Bedfordshire Council, Luton Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council and Peterborough City Council. It is dependent upon information supplied from private bus operators, the largest of which, hereabouts, is Stagecoach East.

Take a look at this update on the Cambridge Area Bus Users website.

Incidentally, which app are you using? The one linked to Vix is 'MyBusTrip' available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
