Christmas Park & Ride
« on: June 30, 2008, 05:02:07 PM »
Stagecoach have been awarded both the Saturday seasonal Park & Ride services this year. They will operate from 27 September - 27 December.

PR1 Lynch Wood - Queensgate, every 12 minutes 0800 - 1812
PR2 Oxney Road - Queensgate. (This service will interwork with Citi 7 to provide 10 minute service from 0800 - 1815)

Interestingly, the Sunday services have been awarded to Veolia Transport (Paul James Coaches). They will operate every 12 minutes from 1000 - 1715 from 30 November - 21 December.

Last year Cavalier Travel/Huntingdon & District operated PR1 on Saturdays and Sundays, whilst Kimes operated PR2

The service was very popular last year - shame we don't see an increase in frequency. Thought last year Cavalier Travel didn't use enough buses as gaps in services were evident and not due to traffic either.

The frequency puts it on a par with the likes of Ipswich and Cambridge, though Norwich appears to have a greater frequency.

Oh dear! this service has been a casualty of the credit crunch and will not now commence until Saturday 1 November - 27 December.

Does that include the PB Citi7 to/from Lynchwood ? Perkins/Eastern Industry?

(EDIT: Wrong one!)

Hi Simon

The main change is last minute funding has been made available to allow the service to operate free once again.

More of a selection on Park & Ride on Saturday including some surprises:-

Stagecoach in Peterborough supplied Dart 34534, Trident 18412 and Enviro 200 36043.
Stagecoach in the Fens supplied MCV Evolution bodied Dart 33310 (HV52 WTG) still in Huntingdon & District livery.

Veolia started operating the Sunday Park & Ride yesterday using AE55 EHO, a Veolia liveried M.C.V. Evolution bodied MAN 14.220, and 39 MX05 ELO' a Veolia liveried Solo' on the Perkins run and three Cross County liveried Solo's 20-22 YN03 ZXB/ZXC/ZXD on the Lynch Wood Run.

The MAN was transferred from the Bebb operation earlier this year.
