Stagecoach in Northampton
« on: July 13, 2019, 06:35:46 PM »
I’ve just seen on the bus tracker that Enviro 400 MMCs 10728,10729 and 10731 are showing on Northampton routes 1,12and 2 respectively. Are they being transferred to Northampton to replace the Tridents that were said to be being replaced by the batch of E400 that went to Warwick instead? It appears to be their first day in Northampton today. None of the rest of the batch (10726-33) are showing in service today so could be to follow?

A little more care please when posting sightings. 26286 on the X46? According to the Stagecoach fleetlist this is a 19-plate E200MMC about to be delivered to Stockton-on-Tees depot which is a long way from Northampton...........

Probably a typo. We’ve all done a few – mainly spellings.

Seems that since the Chowns Mill outstation has closed there are a lot of non Gold vehicles on the X46 X47. Is the service now run out from Northampton or has another outstation opened?

Dont think Chowns mill closes until end of month   I,d be very pleased if they got rid of all the Gold bone-shakers
with there slippery seats off the x46/47,s, their ride quality is Very poor   Tridents are much better

There must be a load of dead running then with the late night services from Rushden Lakes running after midnight.

Myself I think the Scania based vehicles offer a much better ride quality compared to the ADL based vehicles, however I’m not a fan of the ‘leather’ based seats. Why they continue to brand the service X as to me that means express when the journey takes 90 minutes from Northampton to Rushden when one can drive it in 15 minutes along the A45......

The Scania's on X46/47 have a Very bumpy ride, had 15935 Today[15 Nov] the rattling wreck took 34 minutes to get from Raunds to Rushden
Scania were better than ADL,but not anymore  These x46/47 buses are Not real scania's,their built cheaply in Poland
i challenge anyone brave enough to go All the way from Northampton to Raunds and sit upstairs for maximum effect of bumpiness
the X status of the route is a Joke only Stagecoach could think of

FYI,The bodywork on 15935, as with all E400 bodied Scanias is built in the UK, not Poland. Sadly my experience of the sister batch operating into Cambridge is the same, although I'd argue the Scania ride quality is still better than the ADL chassis!

What causes the bumpiness is the chassis components, nothing to do with the ADL body work which are usually good  15935 being an exception
the 04 & 06 plate tridents have much better ride quality and are preffered by most drivers
