Bus operator Yourbus confirms it has ceased trading

It offered services in areas including Nottingham, Beeston, Long Eaton and Eastwood

A Yourbus service. The company has ceased trading

A bus company which operated services in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire has ceased trading.

Yourbus offered routes including the Y5 from Nottingham to Derby, taking in Long Eaton and Beeston, the Y10 service for Eastwood and two routes in Ilkeston.

The company confirmed the news in a statement this morning

It said: "It is with regret to inform our passengers that unfortunately Yourbus has ceased trading as of October 4, 2019.

"We would like to thank our customers for their support and custom over the years."

The statement added any updates for passengers who had genie cards, which were travel smart cards, will be released in due course.

One regular passenger, Curtis Berry, 27, used to take the bus from Nottingham city centre to Chilwell.

He said: "The services they have provided to me have always been fine but there have never been many passengers on the bus, so it makes sense (why they have ceased trading)."

East Midlands bus operator trentbarton has confirmed all its services will be accepting valid yourbus tickets today.

A spokesperson said: "Just show our drivers your product or ticket and hop on."

Nearly all their routes were duplicates of Trent Barton services

About half their bus work was commercial and all of that was effectively directly competing with either TrentBarton or Arriva, the other half was tendered to Derbyshire (they hadn't lost much work that recently).  DCC have been on the ball through this and all tendered services had replacement operators lined up for Monday within hours of Yourbus coming off the road.

Companies House has a filing for termination of the director on 23rd September by the liquidator, so the reciever must have run the tendered services for an interim period until DCC sorted something else out which will be tomorrow

Derbyshire-based YourBus have ceased operating as of this morning.
They were due to loose several tenders to Stagecoach at the end of the
month - the 216 (Matlock - Bonsall) and 217 (Matlock - Chatsworth), plus
interworked school services 169 & 470 were awarded to Stagecoach Yorkshire
(to be operated by Chesterfield depot) and I understand others in the
Alfreton area were awarded to Stagecoach East Midlands (Mansfield).
