Afternoon folks,

There were two working consecutive journeys from Huntingdon this afternoon.
13906 (so far as I can tell it was only carrying hastily-applied fleet numbers on her rear) photgraphed by me on Buttsgrove Way at 1427.
There was another unidentified example on the following service which worked in from Peterborough, seen by me on Edison Bell Way, and very-slowly navigating onto the bus only lane towards Huntingdon Bus Station from Brampton Road.

Here's 13906 - https://www.flickr.com/photos/bristol-re/49424868087/

Does anyone know if the "white on black" destination blinds are permanent? To my eyes the lettering is much clearer than the orange/brown found on other Stagecoach Cambridge services. But I don't know about the accessibility requirements...

White on black must be OK.  Many operators are using it including TfL. I think it shows up better than orange but that maybe because modern LEDs are brighter.

Had a short run on one of these today.

I accept that they can make it round the route (though even Huntingdon Rd into Histon Rd is tight).

However they still seem remarkably unsuitable for the roads of Cambridge, and it doesn't seem to me that the service is so frequent that it wouldn't benefit from extra frequency rather than larger buses.

Almost everyone using physical blinds switched to yellow on black because research shows it's more clear to the eye. London reverted to white (or more commonly, dirty grey) on black blinds because a certain Mayor wanted to recreate the "traditional Routemaster" feel, and they are certainly a lot harder to read at a distance. LEDs I find about the same either way - I suspect the move to white is simply because reliable white LED technology came along later than yellow.

Nigel, Are the buses you have seen lettered up now or running in plain livery unlettered?

Hi David.... Still plain livery !! They've just had Fleetnumbers affixed & Nothing else !!  They're still working trying to get the closed section of Busway
re-opened.  Going to be at least another two or three weeks, so looking at end of February ??

Following on from the news about the Volvo deckers, some, if not all of the new MCV-bodied Volvo saloons are now at Fenstanton, and are possibly coming out to play next week.

Now that Stagecoach have announced their amended new liveries, how does these new vehicles fit into the scheme? I notice that two older vehicles have also been repainted into this livery.

In addition to the new Volvo B8L double-deckers, I managed to photo one of the Volvo B8RLE with M.C.V. bodywork at St. Ives Park & Ride.

I didn't manage to see one of the MCV single deckers but photographed an Enviro400 in the new Ocean Green livery.

I was hoping for a ride on one of the new tri-axle Volvos but the two service B trips I travelled on were operated by Enviro400s in original Busway livery. However I managed to photograph 13911 and 13912.
