Prior to joining Deloitte, Charlie was the managing director of multiple bus and coach companies in the UK, including Cambridge-based Whippet Coaches, a 100-year-old company that doubled in size under Charlie’s stewardship.

 Doubled in Size ???... Is that for Real, Charlie ?????     Seeing as a lot of the local bus services have now gone.....In what way, would that be ??

Huh.

I guess the only way you could claim Whippet has doubled in size is that they've gone from operating no National Express contracts at all to most of the ones running through East Anglia!

What local services are even left nowdays? 8, X3, the remains of the Huntingdon town services and the U?

Don't forget the St Neots town service, which seems to be just 1 bus most of the day - a far cry from when Stagecoach ran 62, 63, 64 and 66 there!

I guess the asset base may have doubled, as they now have some expensive buses?

    Problem is, like any statistic, it depends on what the parameters are.

    Is it:
    • Number of employees;
    • Number of drivers;
    • Number of vehicles;
    • Total payroll cost;
    • Total value of vehicles;
    • Total route miles?

    (Asking for a friend.)
