27523 was back on the 1 to Kempston this evening, was hoping I’d seen the last of 27520-27523!

These are now Bedford's oldest buses

More Volvo B8RLE's have arrived at Bedford. I saw 21307/12 (BF65WKW/BV18YCB) parked just inside the doors at Bedford depot as I walked past with three others in front of them that I couldn't identify. Although Steven knight has covered that on his site as they were all in the old busway livery They must've been 21303 (BF65WKS) and Volvo B7RLE's 21232/35 (AE12CJO/X) as he reported those as moving to Bedford.
I didn't see these but Steven knight also reported that the MCV Evora Bodied Volvo B8RLE's 21363-68 (BU69XXA/B/C/D/E/F) are also moving to Bedford temporarily for the X5 which is a nice surprise. A nice bit of variety to look out for

The other interesting thing going on is Peterborough going almost fully double deck apart from services 60/61/62/63 which will be operated with Enviro 200's. Where will their surplus Enviro 200's end up. I hope they send 36934 (SN63KFO) back home to Bedford where it was new

Perhaps A2B will buy some as they seem to be continuing to take in Enviro 200's to their fleet.

I doubt they will be for sale. They are likely to be cascaded out to Bedford, Cambridge and Fenstanton. The only vehicles likely to be sold out of the Stagecoach group as a result of all these changes will be Darts

I hadn't realised 27850 is a Bedford bus but is showing on the tracker in Milton Keynes floating around in circles. 27645 is showing up in Luton but I don't know why as 27855 and 11280 appear to be on the 99 although no journeys are being recorded.

The X5 services are being covered by 10055, 19578, 19581, 19587, 19700, 19888 and 19893.

35180 and 35225 are on the 50 diagrams.

Two winners for me today starting with 27850 on a 9a into town where the normal route was sealed off by ambulances which meant we were diverted down the embankment to St Peters Street to reach the bus station. Then 27852 on the 1415 73 which went via Hasset St and the High St to pick up in St Paul's Square.

Arriva 3125 was in the bus station off Bletchley rail replacements as was 21312. 11279 was back out on the X5 to Cambridge this morning before vanishing. The tracker showed 21232, 21303, 21363, 21365-368 on the X5 and 21235 and 21364 on the 99 with 21307 showing on the garage.

19581 and 11280 were on route 1 and 10055 on route 9. In addition 19578 was on 53's and 19587 on the 6 route. I notice routes 3, 4, 7, 8 and 10 all seemed to be E200 vehicles so is this the end of the solo at last?

Only the ex London short E200's and Solo's can work the 8. Everything else is deemed to be too long for the streets of Queens Park.

My buses today were 11279 on the 9b, 10055 on the 81, 27645 on a 9a, 18104 on the 1250 50 from Kettering and 19700 on a 9 home. Parked up at the bus station were 21301 and 3123 on Bletchley rail work  11280 was on the 5 route.

No sign of any solo activity. 374xx were all on routes 3, 4, 7 and 10. It appears the 8 is operated by just one bus as a standalone route  as 36302 was on all journeys.

According to the tracker 21305 and 21363 were on 99's this morning.

Services 3,4,7 and 10 are now allocated an Enviro 200 MMC as a solo can only hold 7 passengers due to social distancing where as the MMC's can take 10. The only reason this isn't the case with the 8 as well is as I said in my previous post anything bigger than a Solo or short E200 is deemed too long for the route.

I saw Enviro 400 19889 (AE11FUF) on the 4 this evening. That's first time I've ever seen a decker on the 4. It will have done a 10 as well as they inter work

My thanks to my usual contact at Bedford depot for the news that Bedford are expecting Plaxton Elite bodied Volvo B9R's 53702-06/08/16 (OU10GYJ/K/N/O/AE10JSZ/TU/YN60ACU) from Herne Bay for the 99 as replacements for the former X5 Plaxton Panther bodied Volvo B9R's 53612/13/15-18 (KX58NCE/F/N/O/U/AE11FMF).

I believe these Elites were from the now discontinued M2 service run by Stagecoach East Kent. Some of these coaches won't be strangers to the area, either, as they were based at Peterborough on National Express workings several years ago.

That's right. Some of them were also used by Northampton depot on the rail replacement service W7 between Bedford and Wellingborough before going to East Kent

I passed 19705 on a 4 yesterday so waited to have it on a 8 or 10 when it returned but this proved futile as it swapped to a common 5 so game over.

I did report 19705 was on a 4 on 11 March above so it has happened before. The tracker suggests 19889 did the 2000 4, then did a 7 and 6, then the 2200 4 before finishing on a 7 on 16 June. It appears 19892 did the 2100 4 on Friday and also did a 7 and 6 before finishing on the 2300 4. Neither bus appears to have been on a 10 so the diagrams must be different late evening.

I see today 11279 is on the 41 and 11280 on 1's with 39683 and 39685 on 50's.

My lucky day today. Winner 21312 took me into town on a 9B where it was ripped and sent out for the 99 circuit. Very conveniently winner 21301 was on the 1315 81 so I did this home. A quick hand-wash and it was back to town on 11280 on a 9A.

Thankfully I made the zero connection onto 19705 on the 1359 4 to Goldington and stayed with it on the 1421 10 back to town. Next up it did the 1445 3 so it would have been rude not to do it to Fenlake and back so that got rid of three routes in a row required for a double decker. I didn't bother with the 7 as done many times with olys and an E400. My bus home on the 9 was 27850.

The tracker indicates 19891 was out on the 4 and 10 circuit earlier before settling on 5's. Gold buses 11127 and 11130 were on 50's and trainer 36011 basked in the sun.

37434 appears to be enjoying its day out on the 8 doing all journeys if the tracker is to be believed. The 50 today is the common 11127 that so loves coming to Bedford and 39683.

11280 was back on the 99 this morning. 21232 has been grounded since 18 June according to the tracker. Not a lot happening on Sundays.

I did 27852 on an 81 into town. 39694 was on the 1136 50 but it was rejected as winner 21364 was the 1130 6 so I did that to Brickhill for 27521 back. After my food shop I went home on 27850 on the 1215 81. It appears 21364 is still going strong on the 6.

I had a choice of buses into town as 19888 was 57 minutes late on a 9A according to the tracker but I chose to do 10055 on the 9B following it. Winner 21232 was waiting for me on a 6 which I did out to Manton Lane to intercept 18101 on the 1150 50 from Kettering at the Sainsburys stop. 11279 and 11280 were both on 5's.

I had hoped to do 19892 on the 7, 4, 10, 3 circuit which had done all the routes early in the morning but it was swapped onto route 6 at 1115 putting paid to that idea. So I just went home on 19889 on a 9.

Centrebus 583 was wandering around so I assume it is involved with the Bletchley rail replacements.

Not a great deal happening to report. 19701 did the 1205 X5 from Cambridge today but was ripped at Bedford and plonked onto the 6 circuit.

For some reason the tracker has gone wonky for Kettering buses this week. All buses to Bedford are not being displayed as 50's but instead show up for other routes. 15455 and 15404 were both showing on route 2 in Kettering but both were viewed on 50's and 11133 was showing as an X4 despite sitting in Bedford at the time. Other visitors to Bedford have been shown as routes 19, 48 and 49 anything but a 50.
