This is a really interesting move from Stagecoach - does this not bring them into direct competition with Brylaine for the Boston-Spalding corridor?

From what I am told it will use the direct main road rather than via Gosberton etc

While that would make sense the registration is for a stopping service

The direct main road is the present A16, the Brylaine service uses the old A16 with a loop into and out of Gosberton.

All that means is that it is local service bus & will observe all/most stops on the registered route, it doesn't specify whether the registered route selected actually has any stops (or locations suitable for any).  As long as the stops are close enough together to allow the service to be registered (15-miles I think, though in practicality no more than 15-minutes apart to avoid questions from the Licensing Office about timing points when you register as you then have to prove/explain that there is no suitable point for a timing point between) then it is fine.

Strangely the route alteration has still not appeared in any N&Ps - East or North East.

Most Lincolnshire Road Car ones appear in North East but some also appear in East.

It will depend on which O-License the service is registered on which will depend on where the operating depot is as to which traffic area, these normally encompass entire counties but due to the shape of Lincolnshire it appears that this is split.  Long Sutton is definitely in the East, as is South Lincolnshire but where the precise split is where it becomes the North-Eastern Traffic Area I'm not sure (which side Lincoln & Skegness are on for instance).

Some Stagecoach Lincolnshire alterations normally shown in North East N&Ps are in todays East bulletin and cover Grimsby Louth Mabelthorpe and Skegness services

So the new 57 timetable is up on Traveline southeast. Again an issue with Traveline as separated the two sections and posted them on the wrong directional timetable showing no through journeys eg Boston - skegness timetable includes the Boston - spalding section not spalding - Boston section connecting into the Skegness service.

It looks like it’s going to run direct via the new A16 to Springfields shopping centre then take the same road as the 505 into spalding bus station.

The extension of the 57 from Boston to Spalding on April 6 may not take place according to reports probably due to the virus cutbacks.

Following this Personal Message...
Hi mate, just wondering whether the posts ref the 57 extension from Boston to Spalding that are in the Long Sutton thread, would be better in the Skegness one now it's clear the service would be run from Skegness and not Long Sutton yard, maybe the posts could be moved.

Thanks

I created this thread on the Stagecoach East Midlands board.

I've merged relevant posts from elsewhere into it.

Hope that suits everyone and makes sense.

Regards,

Richard.
