Cyril Kenzie 1928 - 2021
« on: September 23, 2021, 02:35:04 PM »
Cyril Kenzie (Kenzies Coaches, Shepreth) passed away on Wednesday 22 September aged 93. Cyril had a fall at home in August breaking his hip, and after spending several weeks in Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge he was moved to a nursing home at Royston where he died.
Cyril was a legend in the coaching industry spending 72 years with the family firm Kenzies Coaches of Shepreth which was started by his his father Bernard in 1947.  Cyril had always been a regular attender at the Brighton Coach Rally and won Coach Driver of the Year on two occasions.
In latter years Cyril took a big interest in the bus & coach preservation movement and owned several classic coaches including two Bedford VALs, and an OB JBY 804 'Joby' (his favorite), and several classic cars.
He leaves a widow Joy and son Richard, and will be sadly missed.

Rest in peace Cyril, it was a pleasure to have known you.
