Another round of Stagecoach cuts :-(

Description: Here
Timetables: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/east/east-timetables

C1 - down to every 15 mins, route change in Fulbourn
C2 - down to every 20 mins
C3 - down to every 20 mins
C5 - runs via Oakington
C6 - withdrawn except for Madingley journeys
C7 - down to every 30 mins (Sawston terminators withdrawn)

11 - last journey extended from Burwell to Newmarket

Newmarket Rd P&R - down to every 15 mins, won't serve Grafton Centre

A - down to every 30 mins
B - down to every 30 mins

Babraham Rd P&R, V3, V5 - minor changes

I'm surprised to see the Busway changes - the buses passing my window are always well loaded at all times of day and I would be discouraged from using As that were any more busy than they already are.  It's also a worse timetable than was in operation in, for example, June 2020.

I have just noticed that Stagecoach has shut the bus stops on ANgel Drove Ely opposite the EMG garage.  This has to be positive. Only the 12 stopped there. There were no shelters and the southbound stop had no layby. The 12 will now stop in both direction at the Tesco stop which has a shelter and a layby and is where the 9 and Ely Zipper stop as well in both directions.

The management of Stagecoach at the time insisted that the county council provided the stops they have now closed because of the impact on reliability of using the Tesco stop. This seemed to ignore the fact that the 9 had used the Tesco stop in both directions for years with no issues and that the closure of the level crossing with the opening of the new bridge for the A142 would reduce the traffic on Angel Drove.

I was of the understanding that they were placed there as this was as close as they could get to the station road stops which closed when the level crossing was shut on opening of the bypass.
A set of stops n Station Road near Annesdale would have been more suitable, and could have remained in place today.

Never expected those stops to last long, particularly as they were for the 12 only.  I wonder whether anyone tried to flag a 9 down there, and whether it stopped?  The one time I used it I could not find the flag and ended up walking half way down to T***o and back before spotting the flag in the distance.

Whilst Stagecoach in Cambridge and Fenstanton had wisely suspended operations during the worst of yesterday's wind, there was one vehicle (27847 - AE13 DZT) showing up on the trackers as being out on the road. It had left Emmanuel St for Bar Hill on the 0845 Citi 5 and ground to a halt in Hobson St, just a couple of minutes later. I've no idea what happened, but it sat there until just after 1700. Even if it were possible to move it, I can't imagine towing even a single decker in those conditions would have been much "fun" (or pass any sort of risk assessment!).

Battery bus 14033 was on Milton Park and Ride today. Seems a good use of the vehicles which might manage all day service without charging.

It came out of Fen Ditton (I don't know of any route that passes the church & Ancient Shepherds) on Driver Training at 8.45 this morning.

The only Stagecoach service that passes that way these days is the 19 from Landbeach and Horningsea into Drummer Street, think it still does a run into Fen Ditton itself.

Stagecoach has announced (or attempted to announce) (on 23rd May) service changes with effect from 5th June.

A / B  / C - A & B run every 20 mins on main route (so Trumpington - City goes from 4-3 but everything else goes from 2-3).  Evening and Sunday services continue to be... what's a polite way to say this?  They stay the same as they were before.

Although not listed in the announcement as changing the C timetable shows a revised service - still 4 journeys, but at very different times - Half hourly from 1450-1650 rather than 4 between 1505 and 1545.

(The service is still terrible, and I can't see these changes addressing the level of overcrowding that passes my window every half hour.  However in fairness to Stagecoach there is also a slight timing tweak, and the effect of this is that subject to checking live times for reliability before trying it out, I'll be able to get the bus to the station again.  The timetable is therefore actually good news for me as I'll be less likely to die on a Voi scooter!)

1 - No idea; link doesn't work

3 - Slight tweaks to timings - no overall change to service pattern

6 - No idea; link doesn't work.

X9 - Journey time tweak for X9
Link (Old for comparison)

11 - Cambridge - Newmarket only.  "11 / X11" timetable is only for the 11, unclear if any of X11 survives but appears not.  I hope there is a mistake, and the messing up of the rest of the announcement gives me hope.  If not this a brutal change with little warning, including leaving Newmarket with an earliest arrival in Cambridge of 0820 (being the only arrival before 0959) and taking Kentford off the map of places served by bus services that are usable in practice! :-(

13 - Minor change to Linton VC journey
Link (Old for comparison)

18 - No longer serves Cambourne Business Park on the way to Cambridge, saving 5 mins journey time.  Journeys away from Cambridge seemingly still go there, so I'm confused.  Maybe there's some travel patterns particularly special to Cambourne going on.

V1 - Slight tweaks to timings - no overall change to service pattern

V3 - Slight tweaks to timings - no overall change to service pattern

Red P&R
Link to new.  For these ones they've broken the link to the existing timetable instead of the new one.  I think the change is slightly before / after peak services to Dry Drayton?  Or maybe I never noticed them before!  Service pattern looks like how I remember it.

Green P&R -
Link to new.  For these ones they've broken the link to the existing timetable instead of the new one.  Service pattern is how I remember it.
