Seems pointless, and I like the current branding.

But as long as they don't do a "first" then it's all good.

Would be interesting to see what first impression original stagecoach livery looked like before stagecoach changed it to what it is now.

Personally I think the beachball livery has aged very well - what's not so good is the number of local liveries (here you have X5 blue, Busway green, six colours of P&R) which don't feel like variations on a theme, instead they look completely unrelated. Maybe beachball is not so amenable to that sort of treatment? London red, beachball style did seem pretty good, until TfL killed off any sense of identity with their "nothing but red" rules.

(edit - busway green, ex-busway plain green, ex-busway "Bio Bus", ...)

My preference would be along these lines...

... as featured in this Bus & Coach Buyer article.

Even an ugly VR looked good in this livery.

TCD813? The reg of a Southdown Motor Services, Northern Counties bodied, Leyland Titan PD3/4 FH39/30F (popularly dubbed 'Queen Mary') from the late 50s.

I wonder if it would just be a slight change. So the main livery looks pretty much like the park and ride plus the bio-bus livery. Just in standard colours.

I don't know why but the one thing I have always found a little bizzaar is where the red curve comes towards the front and the dark blue goes under it and the above it at the front point (I think that made sense!)

I have a feeling that they might be Blue and orange like the new E-leather seating which can be found on the newer buses such as the Cambridge Park and Ride Enviro 400MMCs.

I've often wondered why none of the big groups have based their corporate livery on green - with all its connotations of environmental wholesomeness...

The Stagecoach livery has aged well. Am I right in saying it was introduced in 2001 - so 16 years is quite a long time. It still looks quite modern.
Although I don't think bright orange, blue and red go well together. And the interior of bright oranges and blue can be quite garish.

I'm sure a picture is easy to find on Flickr of East Kent's Scania/E400 which is painted in tradition maroon and cream colours but in a modern style. The colours go so well together, and it still looks modern. I would like the idea of Stagecoach having local identities all in the same style, but in different colours, a bit like First are doing. But, vehicles are regularly swapped between companies so it probably wouldn't work.

Saying all that, I think the average bus passenger just wants a clean, easily accessible, on time bus.

For what it's worth, the first vehicles in the new livery arrived in Cambridge were the batch of X xxx JVV Plaxton bodied  Tridents in late 2000
