[905]The service will have a new timetable to reflect the traffic conditions
being experienced and improve the reliability of the route.

Oh yeah?  *sarcastic expression*.  Such a silly route that could only possibly result from political interference :-(

Looks like Bedford service increases are now planned to go ahead on 10th Jan 2021.

https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.amazonaws.com/Timetables/East/JAN21/BEDFORD/BEDBOOKLETJAN21.pdf

I assume if we are in tier 4 we won't see any changes not that it stopped the masses in town or in their cars today. I left Bedford on tier 2 on Wednesday only for it to succumb to a plague in my absence and we didn't even reach tier 3 to suddenly plunge into 4 level when I got home Sunday after I was deported from Wales as they went back into lockdown.

My food stocks needed replenishing so I defied Boris to feed myself. This involved 11280 on a 9 into town, 19891 on the 1150 10 to Goldington Tesco, 19891 on a 4 back to town, 19581 on the 1315 81 home which remarkably was only 7 minutes late instead of the usual 15. After lunch I did 21222 on an 81 into town for Iceland and went home on 21223 on an 81.

No duplicates running now so not much to report. 21225 was on the X5 circuit, 34535 on a 2 to Flitwick, 11279 on 1's, 34538 on a 3 and 36935 on 8's. The tracker seemed to be confused as to where 37235 was as it was showing Peterborough route 6 all day but it was definitely Brickhill it was working too.

The page from the link on Twitter looks to have been removed so I assume they’re not going ahead with the service increases again just yet.

I won't be surprised as they had to postpone it in November and I can't see us emerging from the latest restrictions for a while.

Today the tracker renamed Brickhill to Bourneside as 19705 and 27520 were allegedly in Peterborough after taking a wrong turning in Bedford. I have no idea why route 6 buses are suffering an identity crisis.

Today's keep fit regime involved doing 10876 on a 9a into town and landing perfectly on 34535 on an 8. The last time I did this route I am sure it was very different a few years ago but maybe I am confusing it with the 11. It was an entertaining out and back trip on it with a driver with his own set of rules. Basically if anyone rang the bell to stop, he took it to mean not to stop and great fun seeing all the berts and ada's missing their stops. If there was a fault in the cab with the driver not hearing the bell then it didn't seem to be reported as 34535 stayed out.

I went home on 10879 on the 1315 81 running late as ever for lunch. A quick spin out again on 21223 on an 81 into town for 19889 on a 9, 10875 on a 73 back to town then finishing on 19581 on the 1715 9a.

34538 and 21221 were out on 5's and 21225 did the 1615 81. I did view two W7's which were 37064 and 37069.

It looks as though the 905 change is still going ahead:

Today's yoghurt weaving in the rain as I took myself for a walk started on 10878 on a 9 into town. For the second time this week the 1150 10 produced a decker for me with  11280. It was such a luxury I remained on board for the 4 back. Then I was taken aback as the 1315 9a was 19704 which I thought had gone so has it been branded a reject and returned to Bedford? Anyway I did it.

I finished the moves off on 21223 on an 81 to town easily making the minus onto 21225 to get home also on an 81.

In other news 39699, 18104 and 11131 all appeared on 50's, 34830 was guesting on the 8, 11279 on 5's, 21221 on an X5, 34535 on 2's and 10876 did 1's before going onto the 905.

As I will be confined to home for the next couple of days with no public transport I made the effort to spin around starting with 10880 on a 9b. I then did 27521 on the Bourneside 6 according to the tracker for 35225 back to town on the 50.

Much to my annoyance a daft foreign sounding courier dumped a parcel on me supposedly for my next door neighbour but after he had gone I noticed that the damn thing was for Kempston nowhere near my neighbour so I was saddled with it. So I had to do 10879 on a 1 to Spring Road to drop off the parcel and returned to town with 37214 on a 2. I then did 18108 on the 1236 50 for 37432 on a 51, 37433 on the 1315 81, 19698 on a 9. Next up was 18108 on the 1436 50 running 12 minutes late for 34538 back on a 6 finishing with 21221 on the 1515 81 unsurprisingly 15 late.

21221 had taken over from 34538 on the 6 but they swapped back again so 21221 could do the 1315 73. 37437 was on the 8 but 36302 booted it off so 37437 did an 81. 21223 and 21224 were both on the X5 before 21224 was switched to the 1415 81. Both 34536 and 10881 were on route 5 and 39699 also appeared on the 50.

Anyway enough piffle from me happy Christmas to all.

That was a very kind thing to do, for your (non-) neighbour.

Thanks. Well I couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone number of the deliverer so assumed they had finished for the break. I thought it could be a kids present in the parcel so I made the effort.

After two days within walls I emerged today to just nip into town on 34830 on a 9 for 10881 home on a 1 just for a bit of an airing. I observed 11134 on the 1300 50 running late and 37437 was out on 1's too. According to the tracker both 21221 and 21223 were on X5 runs to Oxford.

Would I be right in thinking that the unwelcome return of E200's to Bedford, which I hoped we were rid of, will see off the Darts?

We don't yet know if all 11 E200's are for service in Bedford. If they are, they should see off the Darts once the Solo's return from London.
We know how rattly 36041-44 are from their previous stint in Bedford. They're not the best of vehicles. I can't say anything about the others having never been on them

At the end of last year the greenfly were out on the X5 a lot with all but 21222 noted on them. The reason why 222 didn't appear is that it has been confined to the garage naughty corner since 22 December. I assume it is broken.

I also viewed 10874 on the 2215 4 on 29 December but my last moves were on 30 December with 36935 on a 3, 34536 on a 51, 21224 on a 6 and 34538 home on an 81 as I fear the Darts won't be around much longer. 21221 was on 99's the same day.

My first moves of the year were 2 January aboard 34536 on a 73, 21225 and 19704 both on 6's finishing on 10881 on the 1315 9b. 21225 then got swapped onto the X5 alongside 21224. The 2 had 34535 on it before it got swapped for 10876. Route 6 also was home to 11279.

Today 21223 is on 99's with 21221 and 21225 on X5's. 34536 is out on the 3, 4, 10 routes 10879 on the 2, 5, 6, 7, 9 circuits whilst both 10877 and 10881 are on 1's with the former also doing 53's. Gold 11131 is out on 50's.

I passed the depot on my way to and from Tesco. The E200's that have returned from London haven't moved since they arrived

Whilst I appreciate all of these observations, some of them ought to be in a new thread ending in 2021.

New Year, new thread for major operators. (Maybe not for some of the minor operators, depending on the number of posts.)

Just finishing cooking some delicious grub for the evening meal, right now, but will start a new thread and trying to split this tomorrow, unless another admin has got to it first.

There’s already one started with the title the other way round this being Bedford Stagecoach,
